On the road with dephaser

This friday we set out on a little road trip that would take us to our two gigs in Karlshamn and Örebro, and back again.
Our trip started right after noon in Malmö, and here we faced our first challenge – would all our gear fit into one vehicle? Believe it or not, but we actually managed to stuff 4 guitars, parts from the drum kit, our personal luggage and some other stuff + ourselves into one single car!

Our first destination was Karlshamn, were we should perform at the “Äggstock festival”, a local festival that has been running since -92 . We arrived safely a few hours before the gig and sat down in the beautiful park and enjoyed some free hamburgers (thanks Äggstock!) and the bands performing before us – “KRÄK”, “Bad Man’s Jam” and “My State Of Grace”. After that we performed our own set, which was made up of the following songs:

  • It’s Over Now

  • Versus

  • Say You Lose

  • Forgotten Words

  • Glorious

  • Living Dead

  • Giving Up (new song – world premiere!)

  • The gig went well, and we enjoyed playing at Äggstock very much – so thanks to the staff who let us come and play, and for the effort with organizing the festival. We would also like to give a special thanks to our two fans who showed up and gave us some extra support!
After our show in Karlshamn, we packed our gear into the car and headed for Husqvarna were we caught a few hours sleep at a hostel.

On_saturday we continued our trip north towards Örebro and the Frizon festival. This festival was a little more difficult to find, but again we managed to arrive with a few hours to spare. This festival is quite a big festival that lasts four days, with visitors from all of europe. We were of course very excited to play here, and after receiving our backstage passes, and checking in our gear, we had about an hour to check out the festival area before our own gig. We must say that we were surprised with the size and numbers of visitors at this festival – we had no idea it was this big!

Although our band is not that known (yet!), and that we had done any special promotion, we still managed to draw quite a crowd to our stage! Now we were really warmed up from yesterdays gig, and even though the temperature in the tent was ridiculously high, we think we did one of our best performances in a long time! Again we would like to thank the people who showed up and gave their support, and the staff of the Frizon festival for a very well organized festival!
